Dorothy's studio at Catton Lea will be open to the public for two saturdays and six sundays during the Art Tour, from 11am to 5pm. Once again this year, we will also be hosting a poetry workshop to complement the open studio. The workshop will be held on the 19th July from 2pm till 5pm, and will be for adults and children. The tutor, Helen Lawrenson, is an award-winning poet and experienced teacher. The results of the workshop will be compiled into a pamphlet, and each participant will receive a copy. Dorothy was among the seven artists shortlisted for the 2009 award, administered by the J D Fergusson arts Award Trust.
Dorothy will be exhibiting some pictures in Sofi's during May (exact dates to be confirmed). This will be a selling exhibition, featuring mostly figure drawings, with some small landscape works.
Following last year's successful debut event, we will once again be offering poetry workshops to complement Dorothy's open studio at Catton Lea during the Art Tour. Experienced tutor and prize-winning poet Helen Lawrenson will help beginners and the more experienced explore ideas and techniques for writing poetry.
